Water
Our long term survival as a county depends on adequate water resources. Much attention has been given to the need for a water intake in Lake Lanier. Although this is important, this should not be our only source for water.
The county needs to create multiple sources for water, while trying to find a way to be free of the control of outside groups. We need reservoirs, wells, and cooperation with other counties. We should develop a Regional Water Authority to assist in our search for this vital resource. The county needs to get and stay in a position where its water supply and other vital services are not controlled by any outside government.
We must adopt a multi faceted approach to managing our water resources in the long term. This is to include but not be limited to education, conservation and investigation of new technologies and resources for water.
